RECRUITING RESOURCES

Getting recruited takes more than film. Use these tools to build your presence, understand the rules, and put yourself in front of college coaches.

KNOW THE RULES

There are important rules and regulations to follow when recruiting or being recruited. Contact periods, quiet periods, dead periods and evaluation windows all differ by division and by sport — and violations can cost an athlete eligibility.

START HERE

1

Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center.

2

Keep your grades and core-course requirements on track.

3

Build a highlight reel and keep it current each season.

4

Clean up and organize your social media profiles.

5

Track the recruiting calendar for your division.

BUILD A RECRUITABLE X PROFILE

Your social media is part of your recruiting profile. Coaches check it — make it work for you, not against you.

DO

Use a clear headshot or action photo as your profile picture

Put grad year, position, height/weight, GPA and contact info in your bio

Pin your latest highlight film to the top of your profile

Follow and engage with programs you're genuinely interested in

DON'T

No  profanity, trash talk, or negative posts about teammates or coaches

Don't post anything you wouldn't want a head coach reading out loud.

Avoid begging for offers or subtweeting other recruits

Don't leave old accounts unmonitored — coaches will find them
